"I think I’m surprisingly different in real life than what people expect or what people project on to me. I’m not actually that awkward, I don’t think. I think people see me as this sarcastic person that doesn’t care about anything. But, on the contrary, I’m pretty emotional and sensitive and I care a lot about things and people. I think in moments where the spotlight is on me — like if I’m doing a talk show — my defenses come into play and maybe that’s why people see me that way. But, I think my sarcasm is often a way for me to get through those moments. I mean, if you came over to my house, I’d make you a cup of tea and be probably really interested in you."

Navajo Kindergartner Sent Home from School, Ordered to Cut His Hair
On Monday, a 5-year-old Native American boy was sent home on his first day of school and ordered to cut his hair short because it allegedly violated district policy, the boy’s mother said.
The child, Malachi Wilson, an enrolled citizen of the Navajo Nation, had been looking forward to his first day of kindergarten at F.J. Young Elementary in Seminole, Texas.
Unless this is a private school they cAnt legally make him do that
Long hair is a Native boy’s pride, like that’s so horrible that’s a part of their culture and they think they can make him do that
Ugh it looks like they allowed him to attend the school and keep the length of his hair…but only after they received legal documentation that he’s Navajo. That’s fucking ridiculous.

Whoo! Congratulations! What class/age/grade? Let me know if you need help, I was a teacher for awhile!
it’s a first year university class (in introductory anthropology) so i’ll basically be teaching the lab portion of the class and marking papers, which might be alright. i’m going to meet with the prof and work out the details, but tbh i’m just happy to be offered a job. i’ll definitely let you know if i have any questions!
finished my summer job and came home to an email offering me a teacher’s assistant position!!!!!!!
